  1. You’re right, I’m normally a bit more chill about spam. I get a piece (or even a string of two or three), I delete it, I move on.

This was a sequence of five. Further, it started as two, which I deleted a few hours after they were created. About 5 minutes later, I get another one. I go delete it. 15 minutes later, ANOTHER piece. By the time I actually log in to delete that one, there is another there. That’s when I finally banned the IP.

First IP I’ve ever banned from commenting. Hence my mildly righteous indignation at it.

  2. I’ve been getting blog spam from hrie@yahoo.com for months. If this is the first you’ve heard from him, congratulations — it won’t be your last. He changes IP addresses regularly, so IP banning won’t help. Try installing MT-Blacklist (http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/), which should keep him from commenting (not necessarily by banning his e-mail address, but by banning keywords and URLs that he uses in his comments). MT-Blacklist will help you manage comment spam before it gets out of hand (as it had for me). Good luck!

  3. Wow. Thought I would look in on your blog to see how you’re doing. Hope everything works out– you seem pretty pissed off. It’s okay to bust out of the pacifist Zazen position for a moment of Greek Orthodox fervor. Time for a Latte?

Hope you and Mickey are well.
